Mother’s Day Wisdom
If my mother were alive today on Mother’s Day, I wouldn’t call her until after 10 a.m. so she could sleep in. We wouldn’t make any big plans, worry about the perfect present, or plan any fancy events. Her only Mother’s Day wish would be to BE. Be present, share stories, and spend time with those she loved. I’d try to soak in every bit of experience in her 70+ plus years that I may have taken for granted in my youth. We’d both be present in the moment of the day.
Human-Doing vs Human-Being
Before my mother passed away, she would often explain the difference between a “human-doing” and a “human-being”. She’d tell me that the joys of life come from the being, and not the doing. She’d tell me to slow down, and she’d say that one day I would understand why.
Now, as an adult with a daughter of my own, I relish those words. I tell my family that I’d prefer no wake-up alarms, no plans and no fancy events. Let’s BE and enjoy each other’s presence. Let’s listen to each other and communicate from the heart.
My mother’s passing was a spiritual transformation for me. A transformation to live the advice she shared years ago. A transformation to understand that joy and happiness start from within, and never from an outside event or circumstance.
Although I can’t spend time with her today in our physical world, I know she is spending time with me. She sees her beloved grand-daughter and sends her a steady flow of support and love. She knows about the goings-on in our lives and provides support when we ask via the heavenly signs I continue to receive.
Mother’s Wisdom
After my mother’s death, when the dream visits began, she offered these important pieces of wisdom:
- Ask and you shall receive – In a dream visit, she emphasized that her Spirit is alive and well, but as human beings on Earth, we must ask to receive insights and feel the presence of our deceased loved ones.
- Death is a part of life – She shared that while her physical body was gone, her life has continued in Spirit, in a new Life.
- Love never dies – She described her essence and explained that the energy of love can never die.
I hope you remember these nuggets of wisdom today on Mother’s Day. If your mother is with you in the physical world, enjoy the BE-ing time. If she is with you in Spirit, ask for a connection and open your heart to receive!
